Dental Crown VancouverTooth Restoration- Quality, affordable dental crowns

A lot of dental work can look artificial. Our goal is to provide dentistry that is undetectable. We replace existing dental crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth.

Where damage to a person’s teeth is extreme, and apparently beyond repair, we can use dental crowns to make your smile shine.  Crowns are an extremely reliable technique for repairing even the most severe dental problems, even replacing missing teeth.  Crowns are important to offer a complete smile and a functional bite. We are renowned for the quality of our work and the fantastic changes we make for our patients. Dental Crowns and bridges are used for a long-lasting correction of major dental problems.

How long does it take to fit a dental crown?

Fitting a crown requires at least two visits to our office. Initially, we will remove decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown.

On the following visit, we will remove the temporary crown and then fit and adjust the final crown. Finally, we will cement the crown into place and you will have a new, beautiful looking tooth.

When do you use dental crowns?

Crowns are a very reliable solution for major dental problems caused through accidents, diseases or wear and tear. Material used for crown repairs is either high-grade porcelain or porcelain bonded to gold.  Where accidental damage has occurred, resulting in lost teeth, or where teeth have broken away through excessive wear, or as the result of old fillings breaking, crowns, implants, and/or bridges can be used as a long-term solution.

Many people have unexplained pain from filled back teeth, which is usually due to hairline cracks in the chewing part of the tooth. Placing crowns on these teeth relieves the pain and allows a return of full dental function for these teeth. In front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause “appearance” problems due to staining or chipping. In teeth with root canal fillings, crowns can prevent breakage.

If you’re self-conscious about cracked, broken, decayed, or worn teeth, we can bring back your healthy, natural-looking smile with dental crowns, also called caps. A crown can return structure, strength, and function to a tooth with extensive decay or damage. Designed to fit snugly and function as a healthy tooth, a crown will protect your tooth from further damage and preserve the jaw’s correct natural alignment.

We use porcelain-fused-to-metal, or all-porcelain crowns. To maintain a fully white smile, we recommend all-ceramic crowns. Our precise color-matching system allows us to find the right shade of porcelain to blend with your natural tooth color. Porcelain crowns are also extremely durable and long lasting, and these benefits make them popular with dentists as well as patients.

Typically, we can design, fit, and place your crowns in few appointments. Once a crown is placed, you care for it as you other teeth. Conscientious brushing twice a day and daily flossing will protect the base of your crown from bacterial growth. Be sure to see us at least two times each year for professional cleanings and a preventative exam, too.
